Following the success of the first volume, Portraits of the New Architecture II introduces thirty-four new and exciting architects and architectural firms whose projects are shaping the future of architectural design. With an insightful introduction by Pulitzer Prize–winning architectural critic Paul Goldberger, this magnificent book includes sketches and designs as well as Richard Schulman’s stunning portraits of these architects’ projects. Featured architects include David Adjaye, Asymptote, Bjarke Ingles, Jeanne Gang, Dominique Perrault, Annabelle Selldorf, and Alvaro Siza. While the book emphasizes the power of contemporary architecture, Schulman’s excellent images reveal unique and intimate angles, and the sketches and layouts provide a special perspective into each project’s genesis.
